Also totally fuel proof Once cured.

Notes:
Full depth cure
Pot life 45mins / Cure time 24-36 hours

EPOXY GEL COAT (CLEAR) WITH HARDENER
For first layer inside a mould.
Can be used with Epoxy resins in moulding.

Properties
The Epoxy Gel coat with high resin content protects the laminate against UV radiation, moisture and other environmental effects. In addition an optimal surface free of air bubbles is produced that can be coated without further filling work. The Epoxy Gel coat is clear and can have the Epoxy Pigment added at 5%-10% to colour. The recommended coat thickness is approx. 0.2mm-0.5mm applied with a brush and consumption of about 0.2-0.5 kg/m².

Procedure
The mould needs to be at room temperature and maintained at that temperature.

A release agent is applied to the mould surface and allowed to dry.

Stir up the Epoxy Gel coat and mix only small quantities with the hardener with the following ratio100 parts Epoxy Gel coat to 38 parts Epoxy Gel Coat Hardener by weight. Set aside the mixing pot for one minute so that any air trapped through mixing can pass up and out of the mixture. Apply the Gel coat with a bristle brush on top of the release agent. All the coats should be applied wet. The Gel coat must not be allowed to cure, otherwise there will be no strong bonding to following laminates.
In other words apply the Epoxy resin laminates after 40 minutes but before the Gel coat has fully cured.
At room temperature the pot life will be 40 minutes, 3.0 hour Gel time and 24 hour cure time.

The edge of the mould inside is often formed by a tear off peel ply fabric. This fabric of nylon fibres can be peeled off (hence the name) after the resin has cured, creating in the process a clean, wax and release agent free area for bonding to later to the laminate.

Formula Five Clean ‘N’ Glaze (Step 1)

0.95 litre                                  £14.00

Cleaning and polishing cream, Clean ‘N’ Glaze

The combination of Clean ‘N’ Glaze and Mould release wax yields high-gloss GRP mould surfaces for the optimal demoulding.Clean ‘N’ Glaze is applied with a soft cotton cloth and polished to a gloss then the Mould Release Wax is applied as the next step.
Mould surface.

The mould should be completely dry, clean and free to the maximum possible extent of any residue caused by other release agents. All Formula Five products are suitable only for sealed surfaces, e.g. GRP (mould resins, gel coats, etc.) Porous surfaces, eg. Wood or stone must be sealed.

Application

A thin coat of the Clean ‘N’ Glaze product is applied to the surface in a circular motion with a soft cotton cloth. Apply to a surface of only about 0.5m² per working cycle, and wipe off any excess with a clean, dry cloth. Then polish to a high gloss by hand or with a soft-quality buffing wheel. If the glossy surface should still exhibit some slight residue, this can removed by hand with a moist cotton cloth. After the polishing process Formula five Mould Release Wax is applied to the surface of the mould in accordance with the instructions. An occasional, repeated application of Formula Five Clean ‘N’ Glaze makes sure that demoulding takes place without
problems.

Formula Five Mould Release Wax (step 2)

340g Tin                          £16.00

A thin coat of the Mould Release Wax is applied in circular motion with a soft cotton cloth to the surface prepared previously with Formula Five Clean ‘N’ Glaze. After a short drying time (approx. 10-12 minutes after being applied), the surface is polished with a dry, clean cotton cloth.

Please bear in mind that if it is too easy to polish away the wax film, then you have not waited long enough! It is imperative that the drying time is strictly observed. The mould surface is polished until it adopts a uniform high gloss free of filming. Before demoulding for the first time, new moulds are pre-treated with two to three coats of Formula Five Mould Release Wax. Each coat should be applied with a different set of polishing movements (e.g. top to bottom, left to right, circular motion). After each demoulding process, a fresh coat of Formula Five mould release wax is applied until the moulds are well incorporated. Later, several demoulding are possible with the one application of release agent. Wait at least an hour after applying the last wax coat before you start demoulding.

PVA Gloss Film Release Agent Apply the PVA Gloss Film release agent to the surface on top of the prepared surface with a fine-pore sponge (washing up sponge works well).  Allow the film to air dry completely for about 20 mins.  This automatically forms a high gloss surface.

ADDITIVES

Super Light Fairing Compound
This is a lightweight sandable wood filler and fairing compound.  Mix a small amount of epoxy resin with the correct ratio of hardener, spoon out the required amount of fairing compound into a mixing pot and add a small amount of activated resin and hardener into the fairing compound to form a putty.    This has a colour similar to Balsa Wood.   Add 7% - 16% by weight of super light fairing compound to resin and hardener. Colour Tan.
250ml - £4.75
1 Litre
- £9.50

Micro Balloons
Add to activated Epoxy Resin to achieve a strong lightweight filler. Lightweight sandable glass/epoxy filler.  Mix a small quantity of epoxy resin and the correct ratio of hardener.  Spoon out the required amount of Micro Balloons into a mixing pot and add a small amount of the activated resin and hardener into the micro balloons to form a filler paste of the required consistency.  Colour white.

Ultra Light Micro Balloons
As above but approximately half the weight!
250ml - £3.75
1 Litre
- £7.50

Micro Fibres
Add to activated Epoxy Resin to produce a strong bonding fillet.  Strong non sandable durable bonding paste when mixed with epoxy resin and hardener, add 4% - 16% by weight of micro fibres to resin and hardener.  Note: Put fibres into mixing pot first then add a small quantity of activated resin and hardener.  Colour white.
250ml - £3.50
1 Litre
- £7.00

Kevlar Pulp
This produces a strong non-sandable very durable bonding paste.  Mix a small amount of epoxy resin and correct ratio of hardener.  Spoon out the required amount of Kevlar Pulp into a mixing pot and add a small amount of the activated resin and hardener into the Kevlar Pulp to form a paste for fillets.
Colour yellow (Lighter and stronger than micro fibres)
250ml - £9.75
1 Lt - £19.50

Thixotropic Agent
Add to activated Epoxy Resin to prevent flow on vertical and overhead surfaces.  This is achieved by controlling the viscosity of the Epoxy Resin. This agent also produces a Gel Coat for moulding.  Add this thixotropic agent into epoxy resin and hardener to produce a gel coat for moulding.  Add 3%-8% by weight of thixotropic agent to resin and hardener.  Colour white, colouring pigment may be added for other colours.
